Just stopped by to say hello

Just thought I’d stop by and check out the forums and see how things are going. Hey to all the old veteran developers who are still around. Been busy these last couple years with my career. Currently supervising the construction of a large power plant. Although, I still get involved in some development as my son is in his second year of college as a game programming major. He will ask me advice and ask for help when he hits a road block. He has won a bunch of awards and developed a card game that turned into a hit at school. Keep dreaming and building cool stuff! Maybe someday I’ll get the game bug again and have some time to actually do something.

Does your son use Gamesalad? I would guess not.

@The_Gamesalad_Guru Hey, thanks for dropping in. Sounds like life is happenin’ for y’all! That’s really cool your boy is making games. Glad he’s found success and has crafted a fun card game. Things are a bit slow around here. GS Team is focused on education market and developing the web creator. I myself am being drawn to other tools and use GS mostly for prototyping. Great to hear from you!

Hey, @The_Gamesalad_Guru! Thanks for stopping by. Your son's lucky to have you as a resource. Congrats to him for his success so far, too.

I have watched a video or two of yours, a while ago I think, and I have to say, you don't have a voice that is bothersome, (at least to me). you know how some videos are. So that is good. Hope all is well with you! Wish I could have been able to get to know you.

With a voice like that, you should be in radio! ;)

Nice to hear from many of you! Yes my son is a C and C++ coder.

Ugh. I didn't like C much at all - too low level for me. I'd take Java and C# over C any day. Obviously, C has its perks and uses, but I try to avoid it in any way I can. ;)

@The_gamesalad_guru Good to see you again. What a weird coincidence, I too just got on the forum for the first time in years just days after you. I just got back from Alaska working what use to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Grats on your son's accomplishments in Game development as well as your own job.

I too will eventually get back into Gamedev'ing as well. My last game made was just late last year, but in a different engine.

Just a fraction of the photos from my time at that job:

I image he will expand his arsenal in his next two years of college. He is transfering to the computer department at Umass Dartmouth.

For sure! Obviously C just isn't for me; I'm not smart enough. ;) I have high respects for those who use it in their toolkit.
