Preload images of next scene?

My game is made of 1 scene with tons of art and sound.

I want to create a loading scene before this heavy scene with a "loading" animation. To give this heavy scene a chance to preload the images.

This scene will last 8 seconds or so until the next scene appears.

Is this possible in GS?

Basically this is what I'm trying to do.
Although the video doesn't mention how to preload the images of the following scene.

I don't think you can, when you change scenes Gamesalad throws away all previous images I believe.

Instead of adding a separate scene, just make an overlay actor containing your loading animation. Set a timer to destroy the overlay actor after 8 seconds.

I agree. You'd need to do the pre-loading in the same scene rather than a separate scene.
