Control Camera seems broken
Hi, I've started fresh from the beginning again an old top down game I started years ago for iPad. I put Control Camera behaviour into the main player character, made the scene dimensions 4 times the size, and tested it. The player goes off the screen – the camera isn't working for me...
Also I went to resize the camera in the scene editor - when I held down one of the handles, instead of letting me adjust the width, it jumped to a smaller size. This happened on the other handles too until GS crashed.
I'm using GS 1.25.98 on Mac OS Catalina.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
Edit: it let me change the camera size by the handles this time but Control Camera behaviour still not working....

How are you moving the character? Arrow keys or some other way? I have a game that I move the character with the arrow keys and the camera still follows. I may not be understanding the issue.
@adriangomez
Hi Adrian, the player is being moved by joystick.
P.S I've just done a test moving an actor with control camera to the right with an attribute set to true - still no luck...
is the actor with the camera on a locked/non-scrollable layer? or is there maybe another actor with a camera behaviour/rule (possibly constraining it to something) that’s conflicting your game’s logic?
@bob loblaw
Thanks, Bob, I had forgotten to turn scrollable on! (I've only got back into GS after many years break - that's my excuse! ;-) )
One thing I have noticed is I can only make folders scrollable, not individual actors in a folder...strange...plus GS is still crashing when I try to alter the camera area...
Still, the control camera is up and running so thanks again :-)
My camera area jumps around as well, I hadn't noticed this bug before but it is something that used to work for sure. As a work around you can adjust the Width and Height values under the Camera » Tracking Area Attributes panel.
Glad it all worked out.
@jamie_c
Thanks, Jamie, I'll try that (I had forgotten that too!).
Just tried adjusting the tracking area via attributes, it worked first time, second time to adjust again, GS Creator crashed. Something's not right...
try using .99
seems to be a bit more stable. there is a memory issue with gs right now as well, so if you’re continually hitting save, you may be clogging up your ram.
@bob loblaw
Good advice, Bob, thanks, I'll try that version. :-)
@bob loblaw
Hi again, Bob, where are you downloading .99 from, can I ask?
When I choose Check for Updates in the Creator, it tells me I'm up-to date. (It also tells me "GameSalad 1.25.97 is currently the newest version available. You are currently running version 1.25.98" - strange, I already must have a beta version...)
I also have 98.
.99 can be grabbed from that thread.
.99 link in armelline’s post above ^
whatever version you run i think still recognizes .97 as the current version.
@adriangomez @Armelline @bob loblaw
Thanks guys and I'll check out the thread to download .99 :-)
