Seeking Advice on Best Practices for Optimizing Performance in Complex GameSalad Projects
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working with GameSalad for a little while now and really appreciate how accessible and powerful it is for creating games without heavy coding. I’m currently developing a fairly complex project that involves multiple scenes, numerous actors with lots of behaviors, and dynamic interactions. While I love the flexibility GameSalad offers, I’m starting to hit some performance bottlenecks, especially on mobile devices. The frame rate dips and the gameplay feels less smooth than I’d like.
I’ve done some research and tried common tips like minimizing the number of actors on screen, simplifying behaviors, and using fewer global variables, but I’m still struggling to get the performance where I want it.
So I wanted to open the floor here and ask the community:
- What are your top strategies or best practices for optimizing performance in complex GameSalad projects?
- Are there specific behaviors or actor management techniques that help keep the game running smoothly?
- How do you efficiently handle resource-heavy tasks like particle effects, physics, or frequent collision checks without causing lag?
- Any tools, debugging methods, or profiling tips that can help pinpoint the main culprits slowing down the game?
Also, if anyone has examples of projects that balanced complexity with smooth performance, I’d love to hear about your approach or see your resources! By the way, if you know of any good sap abap training in bangalore that covers such practical project experience, please share.
Thanks in advance for any insights or suggestions.
