    Thought this might be an interesting read:

    @leonard
    That image shows some elements which are being repeated though, such as the two lower panels, they are the same thing. Also, the highlighted icon in the app main bar is already "scenes" so the added one is unneeded. The layers button will be part of a panel while in the scene editor. I'm working on a souped up mockup now, so hang tight.

    Cool..... Im wire framing to see what it would look like with a less souped up feel but all the features....
    Ya those images were being repeated, but i think it would be clearer to have a "Scenes area" & "layers Area" as we have discussed above in the thread that gs users think layers should be in a separate are like photoshop or pixelmator you shouldn't have to go through scenes to get them

    Yeah, I get that about scenes distinguished from layers. I was thinking about having one place where you can have all the attributes and info about that scene in one panel. But the layers feature is big enough to keep separate I think. Here is another shot, also with a camera panel just for a more focused set.
    I think also keep the floating panels "panels", and not pop ups. Just so it's more solid.

    Your idea of having a separate window (from the main one) is cool, but I think newer creators may be overwhelmed by that feature, having only one window to interact with feels more elegant, more minimalistic and simple to me. I think that's why apps like Pixelmator feel more intuitive.

    @Dantuma
    That is correct but i think when thing just appear when you click a button it seems a lot more simplitical (Simple) and clean....
    I will have a prototype up soon

    @Dantuma I've got a pretty good one coming soon showing the "Genie" effect on windows

    I was thinking in order to keep the main app bar cleaner, when entering the scene editor, another icon pops up near the highlighted "scenes" button. You would click on that, and a drop down grid of more icons would pop up, simply dragging those icons onto the screen would make them morph into the panels associated with the icons. I'll also try get a screenshot up, :).

    Here is my concept/wireframe showing the "Genie Effect" (Window popping up out of a button like a Genie)

    @dantuma tell me what you think of my genie effect concept??
  • RDRD Member Posts: 88
    I'm not exactly sure how it would work, but its an idea. My main concern is people will confuse the effect with the minimize animation with regular desktop windows. They might wonder why the panels were minimized etc.

    Yup. I'm making a popup for adding panels while editing scenes.
    Any ideas on how an icon representing "behaviors" would look?

    @dantuma
    Cool, Im gonna see if i can make a 3d video mockup of this....
    i think ill keep working on the wireframes for a while though.... I'm thinking of incorporating some apple design elements

    @dantuma
    We forgot about the "actor Editor" window.....
    Do you mind if i use your creator background (The couches and stuff in one of my concepts/wireframes?
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
    Full screen maybe??
    image
  • RDRD Member Posts: 88
    View the first image I posted, the actor editor is shown there. The later images are the scene editor, not the entire application.
    I think the main structure of the GS app is pretty good, the idea of panels and such only applies to the scene editor, which I think works well with the idea of panels as such.

    @dantuma
    Oh great thanks!, I'm looking forward to see what you come up with next!, what do you think of 'fullscreen'?

    To add panels, one would click this icon (only shows up when editing scenes) and then drag a white icon onto the screen. Then it would morph into the corresponding panel. Fullscreen is a good idea, but will be pretty hard to design from scratch.

    From left to right, Layers, Camera, Attributes, Behaviors, and resources (images, sounds etc.)

    "Seems like no-one else is posting... Anyone else got any ideas, comments or opinions?"
    Ya are we the only ones... I hope someone else sees this soon!? Do you mind if i use your tab image in a full scale image to prove my genie effect point?
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
    So this is what your tab idea would look like?
