Touch bubbles

Hi guys,

First of all, thank you to everyone who's helped me over the past couple of days, I know i've asked quite a few questions, and am really grateful to everyone who has helped, so thanks all.

I now have another question. Basically, the game i'm making is based underwater, and I'm wondering if anyone can advise me on this little idea - basically, if you tap in the water, is there a way to make bubbles appear? I have seen a similar effect in the confetti template that was on the site a couple of months ago, but I cant seem to get the effect looking right.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to achieve this I would love to know - it would really help make the game I'm making more effective.

Thanks all and have a lovely day.

Cheers,

Chris

You could say, when touch is pressed spawn bubbles.
In the bubbles you have to work out the best way to make it look like you want.
I would also make an actor out of the scene that when the bubbles collide with it, they get destroyed.

Otherwise if you do not spawn to much, I would put them out of the scene at the beginning, then when touch is pressed activate bubbles ( start moving )
and when they leave scene, change self position back to the start Y position.

    Cheers,

Okay so go to my site Unoffical gamesald guide click on templates and download the template collection at the bottom of the page it has a water air template.. You could do a combo of the two technics. http://gleesongroupmedia.com/gsguide/gsguide.html

You can do this with particles within a rule inside an actor that goes to the touch. FIrstly make the actor's alpha invisible and then constrain it to player one touch x and y (2 constrains). Then if you just want a short burst of bubbles you could rule when is player touched> then put in timer for however long you want it to go on for, and a particle behaviour send particles in a y positive direction. the settings for this you will have to play around with. I would try a round image as the particle and this can be changed in size within the particles to grow or shrink during it's life. There are lots of variables within the particle setting that you can play with to get it to look right.

    hope that helps. Kipper

@cnmeyer1980 (do you check the threads you start for replies ?)

Here's a test file I did for someone asking about floating objects . . . but it's also got water and bubbles happening so might be some use:

(if you drag the middle bloke down under water he generates bubbles)

    Hi Tynan,

Thank you for the above message, yes, I do check the threads, the link above was very useful for 1 part of the effect I was after, to generate bubbles, however, this didn't include the additional effect I was trying to get, however, the above info from old_kipper) did the trick.

    Cheers,
