Hey GS'ers

So in-between working on and finishing off Star Serum, i've been working hard on a silhouette styled game. I started it a long time ago but just recently have really picked up the pace on it.
It is a platformer and i have gotten quite a lot of the game done so felt now is the right time to show it off and get some feedback.

All comments/suggestions appreciated. It has a very dark feel and has many, many different ways to die and more are being added. If you have any suggestions on traps/way to dies then please do comment below and they maybe added :)

    Wow, indeed looks very cool and great Beefy.. The video style is really good.. If you don't mind can you tell which software you used for making the video? Thanks.

    Out of interest, is your canvas size really large and scrolling (moving the camera), or is the camera static on a single screen canvas area and your moving/scrolling the changing scenes into the camera area?

    i know its early, so it'll probably change. but if you werent planning to, id just suggest to either change the keyframes for the walk cycle or add in more frames of animation. in the footage the walk cycle feels likes it poking me in the eye because it looks like theres only 3 frames for the whole walk cycle. game is looking good so far tho

    Wow, I LOVE the art style, amazing!!

    My only suggestion would be to change the music for the vid, as I don't think it suits the style of graphics, and the overall look, but I REALLY love this! Reminds me of limbo too!

    @Coolgamer Thank you, i used Animoto, its a web based thing, if you want white labelling, i.e. no animoto watermarks all over it you'll need a pro license which is $250 a year. It has limited templates (all vids are based upon them) but it is quick creation.

    @JCFord The camera is controlled by the main actor. The background is one singular image on a non-scrolling layer. The rest is across a big scene which is on a scrollable layer as well.

    I'm loving this!!! Art style is excellent...keep us updated.

    @zombieaddict Thank you, appreciate your comments about the walk cycle. Its something that i haven't been overly happy with and will definitely look at adjusting this.

    @butterbean Thank you for your kind words. Don't worry about the music in the vid, it is not in the game at all, that vid is just an early gameplay showing so was just a bit of music to have in it. The actual music is more mysterious and dark feeling. I like the music that is in the game :)

    Well you have games coming out of your ears at the moment. :) It makes me feel so slooooow.
    @HoneyTribeStudios Haha it does seem that way at the moment. I have these little stints because I'm generally working on 2-3 games simultaneously, if i feel myself becoming slightly bored/frustrated with a current project, i switch to the other(s) for a bit ... I don't know if this would work well for everyone but it certainly keeps me constantly feeling fresh towards my projects as when i go back, i feel a new buzz for them :)

    This was an inspiration, along with Limbo. There are enough differences so I'm confident it will be ok, what you are seeing is a lot of the early stuff as well, gameplay is more revolved around traps with puzzles thrown into.

    @beefy_clyro I would really, really consider a full makeover for your lead character. It's way too similar to Oscura in terms of art, and that could seriously detract from what I expect would be an excellent game.

    @LiquidGameworks Cheers for your input, i am now starting to seriously consider it (its always niggled in fairness). I thought there was enough difference in shape, carrying no items, animation cycle, movement, etc but there is the resemblance(s) so maybe i would be better completely straying away. Its the icon picture where they look very similar.

    I've emailed my artist so i'll see what we can do.

    Not good enough I'm afraid, we want your games now and we want promo codes, you have until the end of the week - if they are not finished by then we will send LeonardDevloper to your place to break in and redesign your logos.
