Hi there, I just finished a new project so started a new one today. I have tried it before but I believe I am on the right track this time (no pun intended). Have a look at the video.
My intension is not to make a snake game btw. I am looking at a smoother way then what I have got now (probably with custom timers) to make a Galaga like shooter.
I have been working on my 'Snake' project a bit today. I decided to first do a Snake game and make other implementations of following actors later. Drew some 8-bit art and refined the game with a tail and head and cornering bits.
Update: Added portals! There is a little hiccup in the snakes body but I'll fix that soon hopefully. The portals are random, meaning that the snake is always teleported to another location. I can add as many as I want. The movement of the snake is much smoother, I polished the heck out of the code Why did I start this project again ?? Haha!
A week has past since I started this. I finished all logic and art. Kinda made it into a game already. That was fast. This is my first attempt at pixel art since I sold my commodore 64 back in... 1985. Have a look:
wow that looks really good and you made this really fast... keep it up 4:50(=time in video)=bug?
I found that when an actor moves to far out of the scene it doesn't register it's position anymore. When it came lower then y = -500 or something. That is why the tail parts showd up at the wrong place.
(why is it possible that I can change the quote (this is not what Ludwigheijden said ))
also when you take a few apples in the same time his tail only gets longer 1 piece? maybe this is what you wanted but maybe it isn't so I thought I just tell you

Have a look:
Flying in formation and each pilot flies to his own base when it reaches a certain hight.

Very nicely done!
You'll see it one day I'm sure. Still too busy with freelance and ZOMG!
