Amazon noob question:
How can I test my app on a kindle fire? I have signed up as a developer on amazon and have most of the app info done. I just don't know how to get/what, a keystore and zipalign is.

This will show you how to get a keystore.

    http://cookbook.gamesalad.com/tutorials/4/parts/20

When you publish a app on the publish, after filling in all your info hit generate app. Give it about a minute or 2 and refresh the browser. You will have a new notification that says your app is ready, click the link that's in the notification to start the signing process.
Select your key store and enter your password, hit enter and do it again and hit next. Then it will have you select where to save your .apk files (1 signed, 1unsigned) I upload my signed .apk on Dropbox and download it on my kindle from drop box to test it.

This should more then enough info to get you started in the right path, if you run into any other issues, you can always google your question and type gamesalad after the question and I'm sure you will come across a video to help you. Also search the forums and check out the cookbook for help.

    Good luck

Did you download the SDK and rename the folder. You need to use apples terminal also make sure the Sdk is in your home folder not a system level

Yes it was already renamed for me. And I do not have a home folder in my finder so I assume that means it's already there

If you don't see your 'Home Folder' in your 'Finder' then here's how to get to it. Open your 'Finder' at the very top of your screen select 'Go' then you should see your 'Home Folder' there to select. If you don't see it there then her is the short cut to get to your 'Home Folder' Open your 'Finder' then on your keyboard press "Shift", "Command", "H" which will launch your 'Home Folder'! Hope that helps!

I just did all this a little less than a week ago and everything came out fine!

I had the same problem where typing keystore did nothing, but if you follow the instructions in the gamesalad cookbook it will work.

I'm not actually sure if I renamed the folder so that might be why, but if you follow the cookbook section for setting up a keystore it will work.

One you have your app, you can use TestFlightApp to send it to beta testers who have Kindle Fires. I've been doing that for a few weeks with Grammar Pop.

Once I get the keystore and put in the "chosen key" nothing happens and the "!" icon stays. Also the "!" icon is next to the zipalign

Every Mac has a home folder. You have to open your hard drive and open the users folder select the house icon with your user short name and make sure the SDK is in there not a the root drive. If your hard drive icon isn't on your desktop. Click on the desktop go up to finder and select preferences and the check show hard drive.

@fryingbacon can I just say thanks for the android vids, it's not so easy to find many resources for the kindle processes!
