    Socks I had a bit of a play with your starfield for some fun. Thought I would post it up so you can have a look.

    Starfield! Warp 2.0

    That's a great way to 'achieve warp speed.' I really like it. (Instant steal for me!)

    @Socks Dropbox works really well for me but I insist that any GameSalad files are first .zipped before sending to me. Otherwise, the issues you described with folders and individual files appearing occur.

    Hey if you want to make this better in any way too ~ have a go :)

    Ideas I had were altered acceleration to give a zooming parallax effect. I did that but it could be better maybe. And the stars sometimes came out and did not stick to the equation so I had to use a constrain attribute on them for the odd star that came out and was off it's axis. It would be better as a change attribute but I had that issue.

    Enjoy :)

    @matarua‌

    This is an awesome video....I grew up in Jenks, OK. ...played the very same arcade game you see there...I mean most likely literally that very one. However its interesting its labeled Riverwalk...as that name was not used until the Jenks bridge was built and the old bridge became riverwalk...the game was actually at the Q-Spot ! :-). Oh those were the days. Cool to see a reference to Jenks after 31 years....mmm ues...hmhmhm...old folgy he is mm yes !

    Text string parser

    This is a not very comprehensive parser but it demonstrates a way to loop through a text string of 2-digit values (e.g. '#12#24#36#48#60') and print each value to the debugger log.

    Building a little upon @tatiang's parser, this one takes a string and parses into it chunks of length defined by an attribute.

    Vanilla is far from vanilla when it comes to this kind of crazy.

    After a nudge from @tatiang, here's an updated version of the parser with better combined terms. Credit to @tatiang for trimming it down a little!

    Hey guys,
    I messed around with the star field demo and created an exploding star logo demo. This is a great way to display a company name or logo.

    @ForumNinja‌ -- many of the download links in this thread are missing. It would be a shame if they are gone for good. Any way to check and see if they can be reinstated/restored?

    @RThurman‌ I wonder if it could be related to what colander mentioned us in a couple days ago: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/comment/477316#Comment_477316

    I'll look at it later today and shoot a message over to Vanilla either today or tomorrow.

    @ForumNinja I have another one I uploaded yesterday that didn't show up. I reloaded it and then there were two so I deleted one. This morning I went back and it was gone. I tried to upload it again but it would not let me saying there was already a file with that name. It was there when I hovered my mouse over a label for it shows but it was not visible. I navigated away from the page and back and it is now visible.

    Hi all! i'm looking for a code :)

    I need something when touch is pressed an actor shows up under your finger.
    When you move your finger it stays under there, when you lift your finger up it goes away.

    Someone spare a code?

  • colandercolander Member Posts: 1,610

    @evert this thread is for code people have created and want to share it with other users. If you are looking for help start a new thread and someone will help you.

    @evert‌

    Try this. You may need to use a more robust method depending on exactly how you're implementing other aspects of your game.

    @Armelline he started a new thread you might want to post your solution there. http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/69223/crosshair-touch#latest

    Yesterday I needed to compare a user input with an answer in a table, but ignoring all spaces. The new GameSalad text functions are great and make this a simple matter of doing a textReplaceAll(string," ","") to strip the spaces out of the string.

    Or so you'd think. Unfortunately, this doesn't work. Replace the " " with any other character and it'll work fine - including other space characters. Good old traditional space gets completely ignored in that function.

    A simple workaround, though, is to make a self-attribute that contains nothing but " " and feed that into the function instead.

    A simple problem with a simple solution, but I'll stick it here anyway just in case it saves someone a few minutes of head scratching.

    Bubble Sort

    This allows for sorting of table values -- in this case columns -- for use with high score lists, etc.

    I couldn't actually get this to work. I can't reproduce the mouse event since it's empty.

    @StormyStudio‌ Wow, this looks fantastic. It gives me ideas about emulating old board games, but including a third dimension above the board to surprise the user. Much appreciation for the template and the inspiration.
