    Angry Flappers: 2D Game Art Tutorial

    To kick off my 2D game art tutorial series, I thought I’d combine Angry Birds with Flappy Bird and show you how to create all the graphics involved.

    If this tutorial becomes popular, I’m going to try & do ‘Tutorial Tuesdays’ and make tutorials a regular thing on the OpenStockProject.

    Visit the Angry Flappers tutorial page here.

    And if you're not feeling creative, you can skip the tutorial and download the Angry Flappers game assets here.

    Remember to follow OpenStock on Facebook, Twitter & Google+ for my latest game assets - I don't always post all of my free graphics on the forums.

    @McSparkles @HailCaes3r You're welcome - it's great fun working on these graphics.

    @SmokeyAce73 @LordTarantor I'm so happy you guys like the tutorials.

    It'll take people a while to find the time to work through it. I'm excited to see the comments and help people learn.

    I'm working on a graphics project for a new client, thought I'd give you a sneak peek.

    You can see more on my freelance site, I'll be doing some free animated platform characters for OpenStockProject.com when I find the time.

    Wow wow wow you are probably the best source for free game art out there right now..
    I really hope all this generous offers brings you some payed jobs cause you REALLY deserved this.
    Thank you very much!

    Roy.

  • openstockprojectopenstockproject Member Posts: 134

    @POM Your comment is inspiring Roy, thank you very much!!

    I've done some custom work but I'm pretty dedicated to Open Stock & Zippy Tracks just now and I kind of feel like I need to earn my stripes before I start taking on loads of custom work.

    I'm working on my first set of free game characters just now in the background, platformers & top down - after I publish them I'll feel confident taking on more custom work.

    Thanks again for your support, keeps me motivated!!

    I have too agree with @POM‌ , Great art. I would also submit some art to opengameart.org and put in the description your available for hire, when your ready for work.

  • openstockprojectopenstockproject Member Posts: 134

    @bjandthekatz I didn't know that I could submit art to opengameart.org - I'll look into that one!

    Thanks for the tip & the kind words.

    Free Game Assets - Video Demos

    Edit: Forgot the link, Free 2D Candy Game Tiles

    I keep getting emails asking for advice on how to use my free game assets - especially the game tile sets. A thumbnail image is never going to do them justice so I've started to make little video demos on Open Stock.

    I've got loads planned over the next week - a new tutorial on level tiles, new site category system to make things easier to find & my free audio site, Zippy Tracks is about to get a big push.

    Hope you like my first video demo, I'll be adding more throughout the week.
